Posting to your Profile

Posts Tab

On your Profile page, you can post a range of public content, such as text, links, images, and files. It functions just like a stream. You can search for items, and add them directly to your profile. Any content you post to your profile will be visible to anyone who visits. Factr members who follow you will receive a notification when you post.

Post toolbar

After you select and apply your post setting, you’ll find the Text, Link, Image, File, Search, and Source icons in the Post toolbar. You can open or close the Post toolbar by clicking on the gold icon. The + rotates to become an x.The Profile post settings box will open

Post Text

To make a Text post, click the Text icon. Once a text post has been made, you can highlight, comment, add to a folder, or share (posting the item to another stream, copying the link, or sharing on Twitter or other social media), or hide the post from public view. You can also add tags to the post.

Post a Link

To post a Link, click the Link icon and paste the website link you want to share. 

Post an Image

To upload an image (photo), click the Image icon and drag your file(s) into the window or select the “‘Browse’” button to search for them. You can upload more than one image at once. The Batch Settings button on the lower left will contain the settings to add tags or apply the Time Metadata feature (the date that the file was created, or the date that the post was made). Once you’ve finished selecting images and creating your Batch Settings, select “‘Add All’" in the lower right-hand corner. The image(s) will be posted to your profile.

To edit an image post, such as including the title and description, click the arrow in the right-hand corner of the post and select “Edit post” from the drop-down menu. 

The Edit post window includes the option to title (or edit the title of) your post, add a description, message, or tags.

Once you edit your image, select “‘Done.” 

Post a File

To upload a file or document, click the file icon and drag your file(s) into the window or select the “Browse” button to search for them. You can upload more than one file at once. Once you’ve finished selecting files and creating your Batch Settings, select “‘Add All’" in the lower right-hand corner. The file(s) will be posted to your profile.
